I have been a music writer for over 20 years, during which time I’ve contributed to a wide range of magazines in the UK and US. These have included: The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, The Guardian, The Sun, Q, Mojo, Uncut, Mixmag, DJ, Melody Maker, Select, GQ, Loaded, FHM, Front, Bang!, Bullit, Ikon, Generator, Muzik, Vox, Future Music, Independent Catalogue, Urb (US), Sweater (US), Remix (US), Overall There’s a Smell of Fried Onions, Every Boy Deserved Favour and Loose Lips among many others.
I have also worked on the editorial teams of: Overall There’s a Smell of Fried Onions (assistant editor), Melody Maker (new bands editor), Muzik (media editor), Vox (features editor), Flipside UK (editor), and Seven & Mixer (US) (managing editor).

I’ve also worked as a copy writer for the Arts Council of England, Sony Music, Warner Music, EMI, Virgin Records, BMG, V2, Mute, Beggars Group.
In 2003 I researched and wrote two education sites for the Department for Education and Skills, These were Aim Higher and the award winning Parents Online. This site included my exhaustive guide to chat language ‘Chationary’ which has been used on numerous government funded websites since.
